[Ordinarily she wouldn't make a first impression like this. After all, one must show off ones cute side. But right now she's upset. Very upset. So upset her eyes've turned red without her noticing it. Just one of those things from her past life. A past life she most definitely doesn't appreciate, horrifying as her memories had been.

She'd already discovered the Network while trying to Google up the strange number she'd gotten stuck in her head, but hadn't made a post just yet as she read it trying to get a sense of what's going on. She got just enough to realized that this thing was being used by those Numbered folks. She's not sure why it exists or why she can access it now, but she does know one thing: she's upset.]

What's going on? Why am I getting terrible fucked up memories? Why did I get a fucked up knife? And now I have freaky cat ears, too! And I can make a weirdo force field.

Am I one of those Numbered freaks now? Aren't you the guys whose fault it's the aliens invaded? Why'm I one of you now?

And what's with the gross slimy stuff? Is that you guys' fault, too?

This is one of those things. I was physically present and contributed toward talking the Boy into calling off the attack, and it was no easy task. I have people who can confirm that if you don't believe me.

Because humans are happy when a scapegoat is available. Someone has to bear the brunt of anger from injustice, even if all it does is create more injustice.

You're not one who wants to create more injustice in this world, surely? I assure you there's plenty of it already.

I've personally had to learn this the hard way, but when you don't want to be a scapegoat, fighting against it by giving people actual reasons to fear and dislike you isn't the answer. That's on reason Shepherd's Haven exists. We're safer because we typically keep to ourselves, and no one will bother us here.

I don't want to move again just to be safe. It sucked enough when the aliens destroyed my home.

Where did you move when your home was destroyed? Someplace safer, I would assume, if you're not willing to leave it.

We moved to Gateway City. I don't like it as much as Atherton, but it's not a terrible place to live.

I was born in a town that wasn't as nice.

Hartford, in Connecticut. We moved when I was two.

My parents wanted better weather and a better neighborhood.

We loved the place.
