Hello, everyone. It's been a long time, hasn't it? I'm sorry I haven't really been active much these past few months. Things have been extremely busy for me lately.

... I heard about the things that have happened lately. I guess trouble finally started to crop up again, hasn't it? I really did pick a fine time to come back... But, all the same, I guess it's good if we're all aware of things, right?

[she laughs a little bit]

Anyway, I'd really like to catch up with anyone who's interested. And... maybe get to know anyone who's joined the Network recently, as well. For those of you who don't know me, my name is Amy. Amy Dylandy.

It's always better to be productive. Nothing is more stressful than feeling useless or like dead weight. Therefore, it sounds like a good kind of stress, if such a thing exists.

That's how I've always felt. I'm happiest when I'm working.

So? What have you been doing for work, these last months?

I've gotten a job at a restaurant. I'm not even a chef yet, but... I'm working my way up the ladder.

Aside from that, I've been helping with Saretha's charity.

You must be very proud. Congratulations, and good luck on working your way up to becoming a chef if that's your goal.

What have you been doing for the charity? I'm not familiar with it.

Heh, well, I've still got a ways to go. And there's still school.

Oh, you know, organizing things, making sure everything's running smoothly. Helping figure out where the money goes. That sort of stuff.

Do you know about Shepherd's Haven? It's the settlement in New Zealand. A few of us have made our home here.

Well, yeah. I know about it. It'd be kind of hard not to. Unfortunately, there's not much opportunity for me there, you know?

I realize it's not for everyone. Our daily achievements can tend to be the smaller, quieter kinds. But we've got peaceful lives, for now at least.

I'm guessing a whole town is pretty different from a coffee shop.

More of a village than a town, I think. We're not as self-sufficient as I'd like, yet. Getting there, hopefully, after the snow melts and we can plant things again.

Mm. What kinds of things are you planning on planting?

Legumes, roots, fruit, and leaves. I'm studying up on crop rotation to ensure we get the most out of the soil.

Not terribly exciting, I know.

Mmmm, well, it's safe. And it keeps you guys secure, I suppose.

You accomplished a lot. It doesn't need to be exciting to be a good thing.

Security is a natural thing to want, but I don't know if it's enough to keep humans happy. It's stagnating when the satisfaction of achievement requires constant building and challenges.

... We're very different, I guess. I feel like I'm only able to become the person I want to be because I finally have some bedrock in my life.

I respect your opinion, we're just... very different, I guess.

I guess we are, but... it sounds like it bothers you, even if you do respect it.

I'm trying to stay away from ambition that could be... destructive, I suppose.

Mmm, if you're doing that, I can't complain. It'd take more than that for me to stop counting you as a friend.
