Echo Incursion 01 - Jurassic Gateway (August 10th, 2016)

It's a particularly hot day in the Gateway City zoo. What else could you expect? It's not like it's not to be expected, it is the middle of August, after all. But there's plenty of things to see here at the zoo, and the visitors' center is air conditioned well enough.

Just a normal summer day in a typical summer vacation spot. Right?

Well, that's when things change. Those in the visitor's center would find the building changing around them. There's suddenly a dinosaur skeleton in the middle of the place, with the banner "When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth" hanging from the ceiling.

That's not all. The animal enclosures are now different. What used to be a pen for the african elephants now has very large, very long necked reptiles in it. A gigantic, meat-eating dinosaur just tromped its way out of the lion habitat it's too much too large for, and unfortunately for the people around it, its vision is based on movement. The monkey house? Well, those are velociraptors breaking out of it. The aviary? Now filled with particular aggressive flying pterosaurs.

These are just some of the creatures making their sudden emergence, and it's not long until they spill out of the zoo and into the city proper. Dinosaurs are now walking the streets of Gateway City.

Yes, indeed. Just a normal summer day.

"You think so?" Oh Well, if they're going to be around for a while then Phillip doesn't need to be quite as stupid about this. (Toushirou, you did somehow successfully knock some sense into him! Sort of!)

"I guess you're right." Siiigh. Keeping this ia secret is hard, but... probably better than just fessing up to it.

"Hardly anything actually disappears unless we actively get rid of it."

Phillip is actually listening to him? This is new. But he'll definitely take it over having to argue about just how stupid it is to walk up to rampaging dinosaurs. Because that really should not be an argument.

"You might want to get away from these things just in case somebody thinks you're in actual trouble and gets themself in danger trying to help you."

Telling Phillip that leaving might keep people out of danger is a good way to get him to pay attention, honestly. He... might be a little bit more attuned to that idea, now-a-days.

"Ok," he says, and he sounds a little disappointed but hey, at least he got to see a dinosaur up close, "Are you going to stay here?"

If Phillip were openly Numbered and willing to use his powers, Toushirou wouldn't be telling him to go. Phillip is fully capable of protecting people with his abilities, after all. But Toushirou at least respects his choice not to reveal himself.

He nods at the question. "We've gotta at least keep this contained so we don't wind up with a total disaster."

And he isn't one that is going to back down from something like that. He kind of feels like its his responsibility.

If Phillip were able to do anything more helpful than turn into a giant death monster that would likely freak some people out, then he would do it. But Toushirou likely knows how much the newest guardian of Locke City has rattled Phillip regarding that particular power set. He feels bad that he can't do anything like this, but...

"Yeah, ok," he says, with a nod of his own, "...Sorry." That he can't do anything. Again.
