Echo Incursion 01 - Jurassic Gateway (August 10th, 2016)

It's a particularly hot day in the Gateway City zoo. What else could you expect? It's not like it's not to be expected, it is the middle of August, after all. But there's plenty of things to see here at the zoo, and the visitors' center is air conditioned well enough.

Just a normal summer day in a typical summer vacation spot. Right?

Well, that's when things change. Those in the visitor's center would find the building changing around them. There's suddenly a dinosaur skeleton in the middle of the place, with the banner "When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth" hanging from the ceiling.

That's not all. The animal enclosures are now different. What used to be a pen for the african elephants now has very large, very long necked reptiles in it. A gigantic, meat-eating dinosaur just tromped its way out of the lion habitat it's too much too large for, and unfortunately for the people around it, its vision is based on movement. The monkey house? Well, those are velociraptors breaking out of it. The aviary? Now filled with particular aggressive flying pterosaurs.

These are just some of the creatures making their sudden emergence, and it's not long until they spill out of the zoo and into the city proper. Dinosaurs are now walking the streets of Gateway City.

Yes, indeed. Just a normal summer day.

"What am I doing? What are you doing? You're going to get cr-" Alexandra didn't have time to finish being offended at Rakka questioning her motives. She stop mid sentence when the other girl grabbed a hold of her and leaped well beyond the dinosaurs reach in a single bound.

Her eyes widened in surprise and an odd pulsing sensation went through her mind. She had new memories of a group that could preform abilities not unlike what Rakka was doing now and had no idea where they come from.

"...Precure?" Was the only word she manage to find in her surprise.

Leaping that high over the stampeding beast in a single bound was a tad excessive on Rakka's part, maybe. She had panicked pretty badly though, as Alexandra completely threw her focus off, making the Haibane improvise on the spot. Honestly, she'd think that she did rather well!

Neither of them were dead, and the lumbering herbivore continued on its panicked sprint. Rakka landed carefully, making sure Alexandra didn't hurt herself in any way.

"There, careful..." She put on a face, trying to look like she planned that all along. The little question catches her, but it's brief. Of course people know about the Precure. "...Uh, yeah. I'm Precure."

The jump was completely excessive but they were both out of the dinosaurs path, so she couldn't exactly say that Rakka had completely screwed up. Except for the fact that they wouldn't be in any danger in the first if the Haibane hadn't been such an airhead, so she could complain about the results. Good.

She let of Rakka once they touched down and flashed her an only slightly annoyed look as the other girl told her to be careful. Her eyes flashed with a confusion for a moment when Rakka confirmed she was a Precure, then she waved a hand to dismiss the thought.

"Yean, obviously. That's not what I meant. I just-" She was about to say that she just remembered something but then decide against it. "-Just forget about it, alright? And don't do anything stupid like standing around taking pictures of stupid dinosaurs anymore."

Complain or not, Rakka was merely happy to see that the danger had passed, at least for the moment. Of all things, she didn't expect one of the dinosaurs to be upon them that quickly, even if it wasn't really attacking them to begin with.

She lets Alexandra go, now that they weren't thirty feet in the air, a slight look of confusion as the other woman has the same, though she doesn't suspect anything of it. Not yet.

"I.... wont. I promise." She pauses, glancing over her shoulder at the rest of the park. "I have to go, you really need to get out of here, okay?"

This girl really planned on staying? Well, Alexandra supposed that she had proven she was capable of taking care of herself. Sort of, she still thought Rakka was kind of an airhead but that wasn't exactly her problem.

"Fine, I'll do just that. You go do... whatever it is that you do."

You bet your sweet bippy that she's staying here. Rakka has seen the invasion of the planet earth, and rode through it with only her wits, and a group of Magical girls at her back. She's going to stay here and save some poor people from some poor dinos!

"I will!" ...And she's going to give a little bow goodbye and rush off into the zoo. "Be careful!" Is the last thing she shouts over her shoulder, and then Rakka is gone.
