[Anyone who pays any sort of attention to American football is going to recognize the guy who's showing up on the network tonight. He's Ronnie "the Rocket" Stein, star quarterback for the Gateway City Guardians. Judging by the size and angle of the picture, he's accessing the network from a mobile phone.]

So...this is the Numbered network thing, huh? I've looked around a little, can't say I've actually posted to this thing before. It's a little too weird for me, you know? But if it's going to keep getting weirder, if I'm reading this thing right.

[Because he's gone back and looked at things. You people are all strange.]

Not like I've found any answers to my particular brand of weirdness, I gotta say.

Can anyone tell me if it's normal to be getting the same...things...as someone else?

Welcome to the Network, Mr. Stein. As for your question... while it isn't normal, it's not unheard of either. What are you getting back? I saw something about a fever.

Well...we're both just running kind of hot right now.

Like...should probably be in the hospital and almost gave my coach a heart attack kind of hot.

If it's that serious, what are you doing to get help? I'm no doctor, but I've had high fevers before, and they're nothing to mess around with.

Well...that's the thing. We don't feel like we're running fevers.

And Coach had me sitting in a bucket of ice for a few hours, and even that didn't do anything.

Ice didn't do anything to bring it down? Well... I guess echoes have done stranger things to people, but you should still take steps to make sure that whatever the two of you have isn't contagious. Just because you can deal with it easily doesn't mean that others would be able to.

[There's a long pause, and a sigh.]

I...really don't think it's going to be catching. Like I think it's just, I dunno, us.

If you're reasonably certain, I suppose there's no harm in waiting it out. Just keep an eye on the way you're feeling and take note if it affects you elsewise.

That's the plan. I'm hoping it's going to pass soon...but looking at the rest of this network thing tells me we're probably not going to be that lucky.

Typically if you get an echo, it sticks around, at least until you take measures to circumvent it. I had some muscle tone for a little while, but it faded relatively quickly without upkeep.

So far, nothing seems to be circumventing this. Like the stuff that you'd normally do for a fever? It's not doing anything. I sat in ice for a couple hours, nothing.

Dude, let me know if you want the muscle tone back. I've learned a few workout tricks.

What kinds of tricks? I've been interested but ultimately there's just not a lot of time to workout.

Time can be kind of a bitch...so if you're into running, sprinting's going to get you more muscle tone than doing those long-distance runs. And you can probably try using a few light hand weights while on a treadmill, stuff like that.

And you've gotta kind of ease on into it--too much, too fast, and all you'll do is just hurt yourself.

I hate running, actually. I can't sprint or keep up with it for very long so I don't know if either of those are really options. I'm not strong or fast.

Well, that's why you start slow. You start with what you can keep up with, and then you work your way up.

I just don't know if it's worth the time and effort, considering how slowly I'd have to start for this to go anywhere at all.

Hey, everyone's got to start somewhere. Even if it's only five minutes a day.

I wonder if other things would not be a better use of my time.

Hey, this is the sort of thing that's going to improve the quality of the rest of your life. Nothing wrong with trying to get fit.

No one enjoys a hurting chest and breath shortness.

That's why you start to get fit. So you don't have to deal with that anymore.

If it was that simple, more people would get fit.

It's harder in your head than it'll be in real life--you just got to get past that first step.

I think I get enough exercise doing farm work around Shepherd's Haven, honestly. I'm too tired to exercise at the end of the day.

Then work some more training into the stuff you're doing every day! It's not that hard to work that sort of workout into things you're already doing.

You say it like it's not hard, but I live it like it is.
