raisetheearth | Factor Industries Charity Event: October 18th, 2016

Even for Benjamin Factor, arranging this charity event had been something of a challenge. Just as he held great influence in Gateway City, Thunder Corp's influence in Locke was great as well. But with time and money, all things were indeed possible in this case, and the Memorial Dance Hall was playing host to the night's events. It was a glamorous affair: politicians, captains of business, dignitaries, and celebrities had been invited. For whatever controversy that existed, the world legitimately wanted to heal the wounds left by the invasion, and that meant there were a lot of people who wanted to use events like this to either advance that cause, or to make themselves look good.

But they weren't the only sorts of individuals who had recieved an invitation.

Benjamin Factor had also made it so the Numbered would be invited to his little party. Arrivals through the teleporter would be greeted by drivers at the community center, and the same courtesy was extended to anyone who might live in Locke. The only stipulation? Was that anyone who came make an effort to make themselves presentable. If that was a problem, or anyone arrived without knowing, they had clothes on hand for people to change into.

Indeed, it seemed that the Numbered would be well provided for tonight. That being said, their presence would get people to talk, given the presence of news crews making live coverage. Nevertheless... "getting people to talk" seemed to be exactly what Benjamin Factor wanted to happen.

Arthur couldn't see or hear anyone else other than Emilia at that time. It was tunnel vision to the letter, that kept him from looking at anyone else. He stood up properly, fixing the ring on Emilia's finger before he lowered himself a touch to kiss her, red from embarrassment and excitement, alike.

"I love you."

To be frank, he liked hearing it, all the same.

Emilia is doing the same after that false start, but in any case, she held out her hand to him, letting him slide on the ring... And of course enjoying the kiss.

"I love you too, Arthur..."

"I see," for once, Arthur could wear a wry smile. As he came forward and rose, slipping the ring on Emilia's finger, he gave her a kiss and wore an appropriate, dizzy-with-love look on his face.

"That explains why I'm so happy, huh?"

The expression on Emilia's face was just like his as he slid the ring on... Which fit well, fortunately. She for one is certainly not going to take off the ring if she can help it.

"Let's be together forever..."

His heart was beating fast, but considerably more paced than before. The sensation of having everything in the world come together nicely was something he could bear with--as, Arthur had been happy for a long time with Emilia.

He set his hand on hers, standing up and breathing a relaxed sigh towards the ceiling, before looking to Emilia's eyes.

"It's a little tough to speak, now. I might have underestimated how happy I'd feel..."

They should have done this before the invasion, she thought, but everything had been getting so crazy back then...

Well, as fortune had it, they both survived, and now was the time, it seems.

"No need to speak," she replies, and moves in to kiss him.

With a gentle sort of sway, Arthur took to Emilia with familiar ease. He slid his hands to the small of her back, bending to kiss her and close their gap immediately. Mouth still close to hers when they would finally have to part to breathe, Arthur muttered.

"Can we go?"

What was on his mind was clear, if anything, just by his tone.

The vampire smiles playfully up at him after the kiss...

"Hmm, why not?"

"--Dani,"

It was the only time he'd really feel bad about that sort of thing--forgetting Dani was there. To top it off, she came out with the intent to feel better about being in public and the two of them were hogging each others' attention.

"We can't leave without her."

"Yes, leaving her here isn't an option."

Well, she was so caught up in the moment, the only thing on her mind was Arthur... Basically, she forgot too, hence the blush.

"I guess we ought to relax a little," Arthur admitted, fingers finding Emilia's wrists, pulling her hands back to his sides. There was one thing he could readily admit, with her--

Maybe switching to dancing again would keep them from abandoning everyone for the night.

"We get really excited, don't we?"

"We do..."

Dancing sounds really great right now, and Emi easily settles into it again...

It was definitely an easier night once Emilia set eyes on that ring--once she put it on, especially. The weight, lifted from Arthur's back, meant very little suddenly. He was ecstatic, likely to keep his feet properly grounded for once.

Though, that wasn't always a good thing when dancing. He tripped nearly immediately, smiling stupidly as he caught himself without pulling Emilia down.

"--Ah, whoops."

Emilia was happily leading the dance for the moment, until Arthur has another of his... less than graceful moments and comes close to pulling Emi down.

"Ah! Be careful!"

"O-Of course, I need you to forget that for the wedding," At least he was quick to quip at the right time. Arthur caught himself with less grace than intended, his forearm buckling under Emilia's side and bending so she wouldn't go at too far an angle.

Arthur may have forgotten she could simply float and abandon him to fall on his own.

Emilia started to float a little anyway, hoping that Arthur would remember and release her. It wasn't as if she hid her nature as a Numbered.

"I'm not hurt..."

For a fraction of a second, Arthur felt abandonment. She truly was leaving him to die in shame, alone--wait, no, she just didn't want to fall. Straightening himself, Arthur adjusted his tie and coat and cleared his throat--extending his arm for Emilia once again, if she decided to grace the ground with her feet once again.

"I don't think anyone saw me."

Once upright, she deftly landed, and was of course happy to take his arm once more.

"How fortunate. But I don't mind too much if they did."

"Just remember their faces," He said seriously, taking it all into consideration. Arthur rarely said mean things, but at a time like that--

"So, we can't invite them to the wedding. If they saw me trip up like that..."

"Now Arthur..." She stops any further comments like that with a kiss, a soft, playful one...
