Factor Industries Charity Event: October 18th, 2016

Even for Benjamin Factor, arranging this charity event had been something of a challenge. Just as he held great influence in Gateway City, Thunder Corp's influence in Locke was great as well. But with time and money, all things were indeed possible in this case, and the Memorial Dance Hall was playing host to the night's events. It was a glamorous affair: politicians, captains of business, dignitaries, and celebrities had been invited. For whatever controversy that existed, the world legitimately wanted to heal the wounds left by the invasion, and that meant there were a lot of people who wanted to use events like this to either advance that cause, or to make themselves look good.

But they weren't the only sorts of individuals who had recieved an invitation.

Benjamin Factor had also made it so the Numbered would be invited to his little party. Arrivals through the teleporter would be greeted by drivers at the community center, and the same courtesy was extended to anyone who might live in Locke. The only stipulation? Was that anyone who came make an effort to make themselves presentable. If that was a problem, or anyone arrived without knowing, they had clothes on hand for people to change into.

Indeed, it seemed that the Numbered would be well provided for tonight. That being said, their presence would get people to talk, given the presence of news crews making live coverage. Nevertheless... "getting people to talk" seemed to be exactly what Benjamin Factor wanted to happen.

Somehow Emilia had managed to get Amy wearing something like this, but in black. Her blonde hair seemed to be a good match for black.

Celine was quickly spotted by the blonde... who made her way over, blushing a little.

"Celine... Hey. I-I'm glad you, um I mean it's nice to see you. Yeah." Someone is a little distracted by those long, lovely legs Celine has...

Celine was either oblivious or simply didn't mind, turning her attention to Amy. "Ah. Yes, hello Amy. I like your dress." French. "I honestly wasn't sure I was going to come. I don't really know many people here, unfortunately. I didn't even have anything to wear. I was loaned this." Not to mention not everyone spoke the same language, but still...

She gestured Amy over with a small nod, offering her something off of the small plate of food she had collected. "So how are you doing? We get to talk so rarely."

Well, switching to French? She can do that. "Thank you... I'm happy you came. You look..." A blush. "...Beautiful."

She takes a breath, trying to steady the butterflies that flutter whenever she sees Celine... "Um, I'm well, Emi watches over me. I don't have to be scared when she's near."

"Thank you Amy. It is not often I get to wear a dress like this. The change is both refreshing and uncomfortable. I'm just glad I wasn't made to wear the heels too. They were so high I would never be able to walk." She waved the attempted joke off. "Besides, if I didn't come I would just be watching reruns of some soap opera or something. Not exactly an exciting evening."

Celine was smiling now. Amy did tend to lift her mood. "I don't see why you would feel scared. You're just as strong as Emi is. You really don't have anything to be scared of." Celine took a sip from her glass, eyebrows raising subtly, looking down at it. It was quite good. "Have you had anything to drink yet?"

Sadly Amy is considered the same age as Emi, and has to stick to non-alcoholic drinks. She probably wouldn't drink much in any case, only enough to get tipsy. "Oh, I imagine not..."

And that, in turn, made the vampire smile more. "She's stronger... mentally." She glanced at Celine's drink. "Yeah, some coke. Um... I want to ask you something."

"Not stronger mentally. Her constitution is a little better when it comes to less savory things, but that does not mean her strength is greater than yours. Nor is this a bad thing, as you've shown a great deal more compassion than she. In my opinion at least."

She looked fully at Amy at the comment, head slightly inclined. "Oh? By all means, ask away. I'll answer best I can."

"She's brave... Braver than me. But she's shown me a lot of care and love too."

That blush returns in full force now, and Amy tries to be brave. Try not to think about being rejected... "Well... I want to, um... meet up sometime, just the two of us, for a night out."

Celine was completely missing Amy's blush, or possibly writing it off as her usual shyness. She did frown though. "Don't give me that. Anyone can be brave. It's not about not being afraid of something, it's about standing up to what you're afraid of."

"Oh?" She brightened a little, her frown melting into a small smile.. "That... Actually sounds really fun. I'd have to check my schedule and make sure I'm not working that night, of course, but I should have at least one day off very soon. What sort of thing did you have in mind?"

"I suppose..." She was very unsure about it, and her ex-boyfriend had tried to tell her the same thing...

"Well, I... I'm not sure. Anywhere that seems fun would be fine, right?" A date... With Celine? She can't help but smile.

[sakuya_izayoi]

"Well, i'm not very good at deciding events. I'm kind of a home-person." She pursed her lips, looking up at the ceiling. "Let's see... I suppose... no that wouldn't work... Hmm..."

She looked back down after a moment, shrugging. "I mean, anything is fine with me, really. I'm not sure of anything in my area, really. I suppose I could see what movies are playing if you'd like. Though I'm not entirely sure what movies you find entertaining."

Amy give it a little thought, what could they possibly go to on Celine's day off? Suddenly an idea comes to her, and she brightens considerably!

"Oh! How about a small carnival of some sort? I'd love to go with you to one!"

[sakuya_izayoi]

Celine's eyebrows raise subtly. "A carnival?" And then a genuine smile. "I haven't been to one for years. I'm not sure if one is local at the moment but it sounds wonderful. I never got to go on all the rides I wanted. My brother would always end up motion sick. Even the Ferris wheel."

Her cheeks flushed lightly. "Ah sorry. I'm acting rather childish."

"Then it's, um, settled? I'm looking forwards to this already!"

She smiles brightly, happily imagining what it'll be like. Maybe she'll get a kiss at the end of the night, too.

[sakuya_izayoi]

"Completely settled. I'm also looking forward to going." And she meant it. "Thank you for offering. I really appreciate it."

Okay so going to numbered events wasn't all bad. In fact, she would even admit to being pleased about attending right now. A rarity certainly. "Where and what time?" After the sun went down, certainly.

"Well, um... Any time after sunset would be fine with me. And maybe somewhere near where you live?"

[sakuya_izayoi]

"I'm not sure if there is one, but I can look around." It would certainly be smaller where she was... that and everyone would speak a language she knew.

"I'll have to get back to you with more information. I'm not entirely sure how late they stay open though. If need be we could bring a parasol at the end of the day, I suppose."

[adorapire]

"Emi always has some extra parasols around..." The vampire smiles softly... This was going better than she expected so far.

"I'm looking forward to it."
