[She paused at the sight. There were familiar yellow cat-like things wandering around looking very confused. When they saw her, they froze up. She realized why just as some of them began to flee.]

Wait! I'm not Moge-ko! I'm nothing like her!

[That caused some to pause and give her confused looks. And then she caught up and they tensed up as she began to speak...]

Is there a "My past life was a terrible person" club? Because I think I'd be a good candidate for one.

Also, Mogekos suck. They're horrible. They look like those. [And she uploads a picture of one of the yellow cat-things.] Except that those ones here're okay. I've talked with them. [And they'd been afraid of her because she looked like that horrible Moge-ko. It'd taken some effort to calm them down a bit, but they'd still been wary of her.] They're Defect Mogekos which means that they aren't like the rest and they get killed for it. I don't know how they showed up here and they don't know either. This must be one of those weird things like the dinosaurs.

Um, they aren't very bright, I don't think, but could someone give them jobs or something? They'll starve without it and I already asked my dad and he said no to feeding all of them and that they should get jobs if they're smart enough to talk. And he won't give them jobs either.

[How unfair! Cute things like those shouldn't have to suffer! Well, at least the not-terrible ones. The terrible ones deserve it.]

Not much. They're afraid of me because I look like my past life. Who did terrible things. They did mention they're Defect Mogekos and say a little about how the other Mogekos treated them. I got memories off that. Not great ones, but memories.

What are some of your memories of that like? Not to pry, if you don't want to talk about it or something.

It was more like I knew stuff. Awful stuff. Mogekos're awful. Though most of my memories've been terrible.

That and worse. They do... things to girls.

[Arlene can imagine a lot that's not pretty. She hopes it's not what she thinks.]

Oh my god! Are you really going to make me say it? There's only one thing it could be! It's just terrible and gross! The worst's that they've a gross fetish for high school girls!

Forget it, honey. You don't have to say it. I can guess well enough, especially with the fetish information.

Mogekos suck! Except for the ones here. They're the exceptions.

That's right. Even little things like not liking prosciutto or whatever will get them branded as a Defect Mogeko. Mogekos're pretty much all the same and they hate anyone who isn't.

Proscuitto? That's really random. They all like that stuff, huh?

They... [And she suddenly pauses.] I just remembered they don't just like it, they worship it. Seriously, there's a whole freaky religion around Lord Prosciutto.

They worship it? That's ridiculous. Just thinking about it is probably the weirdest thing I've ever had to picture.

Yeah, it's ridiculous. And they think they go to a place called Prosciutto Paradise, too.

What the hell.

They don't really, do they? It sounds ridiculous but honestly a lot of ridiculous things have happened lately.

I dunno. There was some pretty weird things in my past life. Awful things, too.

You don't have to talk about the awful things but I always like hearing about weird things. If freak shows were still a thing I'd probably go to them all the time. Instead, I read tabloids, and now I watch the Network.

[And she sends over the picture she took of the grotesque monster she got a while back.]

[Her eyes widen when she sees it. She gives an uncomfortable laugh.]

That's pretty gross. I don't know about freakish, since I don't know what these are supposed to look like. Freaks are things that look or behave like they shouldn't.

I'm pretty sure it's a freak even for that place. The way people in my memory talked about it, it was like it was one-of-a-kind. Thank gods.

Hm. Yeah, one-of-a-kind definitely counts as a freak, in my book. What did you end up doing with that thing anyway?

I gave it to those Factor guys. It's probably in an exhibit like the dinosaurs or something now. I haven't really bothered to check it out.

Well, at least it's not your problem anymore. I'd probably do the same thing if I had to deal with a thing like that. Even my new apartment's kind of too small for it.

Well, yeah. Even if I actually wanted to keep it, my parents probably wouldn't let me. But they'd be right, no one should keep such a gross thing.
