Thunder Corp Recruitment Drive
Who: Everyone who agreed to be approached by Thunder Corp
When: September 21st
What: Thunder Corp is out to recruit
Where: Various Locations
On the date of September 21st, the visitations begin.
For some, they arrive in the form of men in well-pressed business suits. All of them are fit and attractive, almost artificially so, carrying suitcases that contain contracts they wish for those they approach to sign. Their friendliness is also absolute, though they are somehow aggressive at the same time. They've bought themselves into absolutely every location possible, either having traveled great distances with ease or simply found people where they would logically be. In any case, they approach their "targets" out of the blue, greeting them with an outstretched hand and an aggressively polite demeanor.
Still others receive a message in the form of electronic mail. The approach is different simply as a matter of personal resource. How exactly did they find out your e-mail address? Why, it's for the same reason they're able to approach people wherever they happen to be right now: They're Thunder Corp, and they are very resourceful! That's how!
A much more pressing question would be... how did they know you are a Numbered?
[OOC: There's two threads you can reply off of depending on how you decided to be contacted, ones for being approached in person, and ones for being contacted by personal e-mail.]

"Hello. You must be Rakka. Quiet day at home?" he asks pleasantly. "I came to discuss an opportunity with you, and I think you'll be very pleased to hear about the kind of perks and benefits you can expect if you say yes. May I come in?"
no subject
"Umm.... yes, I am." Shyness engaged! Though it was more of a stalling tactic while she tried to figure out a plan. "An opportunity...? to be honest, I don't think we're looking for magazine subscriptions."
She glanced back into the house. "Uhh, it's kind of a mess?"
no subject
"I don't mind a mess. A mess is partly the reason I'm here, in fact! I happen to have it on good authority that you Numbered are particularly good at cleaning them up. Would you agree with that statement?"
no subject
....The natual idea of slamming the door in the man's face was there, but Rakka figured she had to play it safe. "Y-yes. I think we're pretty good at that. We've done some great things in the past."
Finally, she relented. Not really many ways around it. Rakka breathed in, and stepped back, letting the suited man inside.
no subject
He makes himself professionally comfortable, taking a seat at the table in the kitchenette and setting his hat down in front of him. "Won't you please join me, Rakka? Is it all right with you if I call you Rakka? I can say 'Miss Yoshitoshi' if you would prefer."
no subject
And Fougere, who was roused by the knocking, only to quietly zip out of sight behind the couch at the sight of a black-suited agent. There was a sense of suspicion that crossed him, Rakka too, about this man. He would be ready for the moment that Rakka needed help, if it came to that.
"Miss Yoshitoshi is fine." She joined him at the table, noticeably hesitating before taking a seat across him. "Uhh, did you want anything?"
no subject
"Miss Yoshitoshi... ah, all right, as you wish," he replies. "I represent a company in Locke City. You may have heard of it, but we'd like to offer you a position with fantastic opportunities and compensation. Only the Numbered are really suited for this, which puts all of you in an elite category to recruiters like me."
no subject
"A... company..." It would be something so simple and obvious as that, wouldn't it? The words that made the hairs on the back of Rakka's neck stand on end. She had doubted that anything like this would happen... someone literally arriving at her door...
Her wings bristle instinctively, forcing her out of her pause to smooth them down. "R-really now... And, why me, of all people?"
no subject
"That's correct," he beams, sitting back in his chair, clearly relaxed and at-ease and trying to encourage her to be more so herself. "And you're agreeable, you've been Numbered for a long time, and you can influence others, whether or not you think so! We think you'd be valuable as a spokesperson for our company, to assist in PR. Again, the pay and benefits are astonishing."
no subject
Unfortunately for the man, Rakka preferred to stand for the moment. The neat little description of her was clearly meant as a flattering statement, but it was a little nice to know that people actually thought that about her? Unease still sat in her stomach like an angry rock.
"Uh huh... and, what company is this, exactly?"
Could she be so lucky that it's not what she's thinking it obviously is?
no subject
"The company name is undoubtedly one you've heard before," he replies, stalling slightly, knowing that of everything he's said and will say, this is most likely to get a bad reaction. "We're Thunder Corp, and we're interested in your help."
no subject
But no. After a long moment, the answer is finally out in the open, one that she was looking for and dreading up to that point. While most of her reaction comes from the inside, icy grip on her spine, heart pounding hard, the most noticeable change on the outside was the bristling of Rakka's wings. They flapped on reflex, scattering some loose feathers into the air and onto the floor.
"....I see. I-I have heard of you." A nervous chuckle. Keep it cool, Rakka. You can handle this. "I'm sure you can understand this is... really surprising."
Meanwhile, Fougere had grown tired of his hiding spot, switching to under the coffee table to watch.
no subject
"Of course it's surprising. I wouldn't blame any Numbered for feeling that way," he's quick to assure her. "And it's part of the reason we want to recruit you so badly; our image has suffered and many are under the wrong impression about what we really stand for. We would like to remedy that in the hopes that we might earn all of your trust."
no subject
Rightfully so."....Oh. Uhh, hmm..." Stuttering was the end result of that surprise. Not for lack of things to say, though - there were many things, floating in Rakka's mind, that the Haibane wanted to tell the agent right there. Some of them were less then kind. Quite a few of them, actually, if she thought about it. Just how long would this keep up?
She cleared her throat a little. "A-and, you think having the Numbered join your company will improve everything...?"
no subject
"We think it will be a valuable step toward improvement, yes. Some of your fellows have already put their support behind us, and we're hoping that you'll see the value in what we're offering and how it can benefit everyone."
no subject
It's that second statement that catches her, leaving her mouth hanging open mid-word forming. It makes Rakka fret, though her subconscious promptly pops up with a reasonable reply to that: he was simply lying. If Thundercorp was honestly attempting to get some Numbered on their side, she would have heard about it from the others! ....Right?
"....Well, this is really sudden, you see. I don't think I could make such a big decision like this right now - Maybe.... later? If that's alright."
no subject
"You don't think that you can decide immediately? That's fine. Would you like it if I left you with some contact information for after you thought it over? I'd be happy to touch base with you in a week or two, as well, if you're open to that."
no subject
"Uhh, yes. That sounds like a good idea." A better idea then being pressured into it right now. "That will probably give me... enough time to think about it."
Don't expect many phone calls, is what she means.

Eric Ellis
Thunder Corp
XXX-XXXX
"If you do decide to join us, you won't regret it. We really hope that you'll make the decision that benefits all of us," he says pleasantly, sliding the card toward her across the table's surface.
no subject
But she knew they truth. They all did, so what was the plan here?
"Thank you..." She mumbled a bit, sliding the card into her pants pocket for the time being. She fixed a tiny smile on her face. "I'll think about it; for the time being... I kind of have some work I need to do."
Which is a very polite way of saying he has to leave now.
"Maybe... we'll work together one day. I do want to help everyone."
no subject
"You're welcome," he beams, setting his hat on top of his head again and tipping the brim forward amiably. "I want to help everyone too, Miss Yoshitoshi, so it's my hope that we'll be in touch sooner rather than later."
no subject
"Uhh, yes. I'll try and reply as soon as I can, Mister... Ellis."

She took one look at the card again, turning it over and over, running her fingers over the styled font. It was real; all of that happened.
The only thing to do was lock the door, close the blinds, and think about what happened next.
