Blaise stares, wide-eyed, at the behemoth before him. It's a gargantuan dinosaur, and it doesn't look very friendly. He swallows, feeling his heart go a mile a minute in his throat.
"Sh...shit! What do I do?" His bewilderment seems to override any other emotion he has before the monster moves toward him. He lets out a yelp as he turns and runs as fast as his legs will allow, ducking as many corners as he can find. He's not sure if the big buildings will provide much of a shield, but it's got to be better than nothing.
"You can't be serious! Tell me I'm dreaming!" If he is, this is the most vivid dream he's ever had.
He collapses after turning the next corner, fighting desperately to catch his breath in the alleyway. What is he supposed to do with real live dinosaurs?
"This is like some bad nineties movie..." He frowns as he gulps and reaches into his pocket to retrieve his phone. He pulls up Winter's information and selects her Numbered number. "She said this one was for emergencies right? ...And this is an emergency...!"
He pushes dial and.... the gets an automated operator with an error message. A look of pure terror crosses Blaise's face. He quickly dials the number again and the same thing happens again. Great. It was a fake number girls hand out to people they don't like. Sweat drips down Blaise's face as he feels the ground tremble from the large footsteps nearby. He gets up and bolts down the street, squeezing his phone hard in his sweaty palm. 'This is it. I'm going to die! I didn't even get to figure out what I want to do with my life, or admit my crushes, or tell my parents goodbye! Crap!'
He stumbles and falls to his knees, fighting back tears as much as he knows how. A couple escape. Amidst his teary eyes, he sees something appear on his left wrist. A silver bracelet with a winged red heart. It's kind of cool that it has wings like his shield necklace, the thought briefly grazes his mind. But what follows is much more prominent.
"What... What the fuck is that?"
He shakes his head a little. Seeing the bracelet for some reason urged him to have hope. He picks up his phone again. This time, he dials Winter's personal cell phone and calls it. He lets go of the breath he was holding when he hears it ring.
