[Closed Log]
Who: Richard & Tony
What: Tony is very hung over after drinking with Caesar, and Richard is very aware of it.
Where: Gateway City, some hotel somewhere in the city.
When: September 17th (holy backdates batman)
---
He had always made a point of, when Tony was in the kind of state he'd found him in the previous night, mostly leaving him to it until he started to hear some signs of life. Richard had never been the kind of parental figure to stroll into their kids' space and rip open their curtains, flooding their poor abused synapses with harsh sunlight. After all, he wouldn't want it done to him, so why the hell would he do it to Tony?
Even if he had found him half conscious in the gutter. He'd get the answers for that out of him when Tony could piece his brain back together.
When the afternoon crept up and started to slip by, however, he set down his phone and fetched a glass of water before he headed to the motel room's bedroom door, tapping lightly on it once then pushing it open.
"You still alive in here, kid?" he asked, taking care to keep his voice moderately soft. "Startin' to feel like I need to do a mortality check."

He really didn't want to get up.
"Nnngh," Came the muffled response. He'd heard the knock, tried to ignore it, and then buried himself under his pillow. Sorry, Richard, he's become a zombie you are too late. "Leave me here to die." He grumbles from under his pillow.

Tony's response had him rolling his eyes slightly, setting the glass down and settling himself next to the younger man, one hand resting on his shoulder.
"When am I ever gonna do somethin' like that," he questioned, giving his shoulder a little rub through the sheet. "This is becoming a bad habit, kiddo."

He doesn't move when he feels Richard's weight settle next to him. Too busy playing dead.
"Nph," Is the response to the first question. Probably never, but he doesn't feel like saying it. "'S it." Yes, yes it is and he knows it. But knowing and changing are two very different things.

"Brought you some water. Soon as you feel up to it we can go out for breakfast."
no subject
"Time'sit?"
Can he muster the strength necessary to get to that water, that is the question.

He'd thought well ahead, thinking that Tony likely wouldn't be stirring much that day. Not needing to rush to get out of a hotel room was just one less thing to worry about.
"Had a bit too much of a good time, huh."

"Remind me not to take dares." He and Cesar got a little out of hand when they were both drunk, but it had been largely Tony's idea. And his insistence that it was totally cool and everything would be fine.
Right up until morning happened anyway.

"Wanna fill me in on your escapades, li'l man?" he said then, shifting a little way down the bed so he could rest back on his hands. "Found you half-conscious in a gutter."
