[Pictured is a young Japanese man with his cell phone pointed at himself. There is the sound of something rumbling further down the street, and a ... a bird cawing? Yes, that certainly sounds like it. Like a big, giant... bird.
Regardless, (most of) you haven't seen this guy before. That's been on purpose on his end, but the situation has sort of escalated. There's another rumble, and something is definitely stomping around.]
I mean, look. Okay. I remember the giant chicken. That past life fought one, I guess?
[Wait. What? He sighs and shakes his head.]
I ain't ever seen shit like this before, some demon-assed looking lock jumping out of nowhere, and... and.
Crap. Just look.
[Mamoru swings the phone around, and points down the street. Nearby, there is a giant darkly glowing cage. Inside it, is an equally giant chicken monster. Beside it, stomping around and flapping its wings is another, even larger bird monster, except instead of a beak-like face it just has a cyclops-like lock face.]
I didn't do this. I mean. I got this. But I didn't cause it.

[Pause, and he squints.] Wait, who the hell do you know that can do something about that? I mean, I'm in Locke, but...

[There's no time for questions, man! Just do what she says, jeez.]

[Suddenly the camera shakes, and he's yanked to the side. Kirara will plainly be able to see a very large headed lizard monster tugging on Mamoru's arm.]
Bro, c'mon! We gotta fight that thing!
...whoever you're tryin' to get better hurry up, I don't think Agumon's gonna sit around here for long.
[Video]
[Who's Agumon? ........ Wait a minute, what's Agumon?! Kirara lets out a bit of a surprised shriek, jumping back a bit.]
Wh-wh-wh-what is that?! Is that a dinosaur?!
[Video]
However, something else takes over and he smirks, chuckling.]
Yeah, sure.
I am not!
I have a dinosaur.
[Video]
... nnnnnnnope, that's not gonna do it!]
When did you get a talking dinosaur?! And why is your dinosaur talking?
[She's seen real dinosaurs, man, she knows they don't talk.]

[It's helpful information, clearly, that Agumon then provides, grinning behind his partner. Mamoru scratches his head, waving to Agumon and smiling as if that explained everything.]
That, basically.
[IS THAT ALL YOU'RE GOING TO PROVIDE HER WITH?!]

[A beat ticks by.]
How does that answer my question? What the heck is a Digimon?

I dunno! He's a Digimon, that's about all I've got! He popped out of an egg, was this talking pink head, and then turned into a big yellow lizard! That's been my life. My memories said he was supposed to only eat special food, but he devours damned near anything I put in front of him.
[Agumon frowns.] I'm right here, y'know.
