What: Raye and Rakka's mutual birthday party, or "Jasmine sure does have a thing about throwing surprise parties for friends, huh?
Where: Shepherd's Haven, the rec building
When: Early to late evening, October 3rd

If Raye wasn't going to take her birthday seriously, Jasmine was going to make sure of it herself. What's more, Rakka's was soon as well, so it was decided to put it all together. Jasmine already had experience throwing parties, after all. I mean, she'd done the same for Winter, right?

In any case, though she'd been in Locke for the past several weeks, she'd returned to Shepherd's Haven for the sake of throwing this little get together. She'd gotten Marina to help her, Lily, Winter, Rakka (who was okay with not being surprised, as they needed SOMEONE to set things up with Raye)... anyone she could get a hold of to set things up in the rec building. It wasn't a really ostentatious affair, of course... there was music, there was food, there was cake, there were presents... all you needed for a birthday, really.

(There was also alcohol, but the advice to drink responsibly).

Now all they needed was the birthday girl.

"Just a little bit," Marina replied, agreeing, because hey, Jasmine said it. "It happens."

"Anyways, I ended up just ordering her a really nice blouse. Custom job with wing-holes."

"... Ah, that sounds good," Jasmine replied. "I just ended up getting her one of those imported visual novels. And... I got Raye some new studded bracelets."

"Right? I thought so. I dunno much about those things, but I think she'll like that too. And Raye. Raye likes being hardcore."

Jasmine laughed. "Until you beat her in a video game. And yeah, I don't know much about them either. To be honest, I thought they were all about... you know, until I looked into them more."

The sideways glance indicated Jasmine was alluding to something... improper by saying "you know".

"Ah, well... everyone has hidden depths?" Shrug.

"So they aren't all porn then huh?" Marina asked because what is having shame?

Jasmine couldn't help but snicker immaturely.

"No hun," she said, giggling. "They're not all porn. One I'm pretty sure is about lawyers or claims adjusters or something."

"Aww." ...wait did she want them to all be porn? "Oh, but, uh, what's the point of that?"

"... Don't worry, babe," Jasmine snickered. "I'm sure we could find one of those if you wanted."

She blinked. "The lawyer one? Oh, I think you... solve cases and trials and stuff. Find the real killer and whatnot."

"IIIiii think I'm good." Without the porn.

"I guess that could be fun if like... it's sorta... a problem-solving puzzle thing?"

Aw.

"Well... I suppose. Isn't that what a mystery usually is?" She thought for a moment then. "Wait... I think puzzles are another thing. And... they did a crossover once..."

"Huh. ...I dunno, mysteries aren't really my thing." Although if it's about murder mysteries and not property line disputes or something, that'd be cool, at least.

"I used to read them when I was younger," she said. "Not so much recently."

Jasmine blinked. "Wait, what were we talking about originally?"

"Uuuuh." Mysteries, lawyers, porn... "Something about your present for Rakka."

"... Oh, that's right. I bought her that kind of game."

Jasmine shook her head. "Man, we... really tend to get off topic, don't we?"
