Blaise? Hi, my name is Misa, you might have seen me around here. Sorry I didn't get to this sooner but I wanted to welcome you to being one of the Numbered! Do you have a minute to talk?

[Blaise stares at his phone curiously, surprised that someone other than Ryuzaki is looking to talk with him. He gives a smile after a moment.]

Hi, Misa. Nice to meet you, and thanks. I've got a minute. What's up?

[Oh good he responded. Looks like Ryuzaki hasn't warned him in advance at least.]

Nothing much! I just wanted to get to know you and make sure you're doing well, with all the scary stuff that's been happening lately. Would you like to grab lunch?

[His smile gets bigger.]

Yea, I've been doing fine. Never better.

[At her offer to grab lunch, his face lowers and he furrows his brow a bit in thought.]

That's nice of you, but I have a boyfriend.

[Not the answer she was hoping for. Things have progressed that far already? Misa pushes down her reflexive disgust at the thought of anyone willingly dating Ryuzaki and instead laughs.]

Oh, not like that! I have a boyfriend too.

Oh, then it's okay then. I'll grab my wallet. Where do you want to meet?

[That seals it. This precious child needs her protection.]

Blaise checks his phone as he reaches the cafe. This was it - some French-sounding cafe in the middle of Gateway. He walks into the shop and starts looking around tables, trying to find Misa.

Cafe's really aren't his scene. Soda is more his game. But, he was asked nicely to hang out and just get to know someone.

When he finds Misa at last, he smiles and runs up to the table, tripping on a chair on the way, apologizing, and then getting to the table finally.

"Hi. Misa, right?"

Misa waves, flinching when he trips and keeping her arms up when he makes it over in case she needs to catch him/prevent him from falling on her.

"Right," she verifies, smiling back at him. "It's nice to meet you!"

Blaise takes the seat across from her, all smiles.

"Nice to meet you, too!"

He looks around curiously, as if it's his first time ever in a cafe. It seems really nice, at least. He starts with a classic, menial question.

"How are you, today?"

It is a rather nice cafe, but Misa is still a little curious about how out of his element Blaise seems.

"I'm good, thanks. You?"

"Pretty good. So, what made you want to get to know me?"

It actually kind of fascinates Blaise that someone would want to get to know him. Not that he's exactly in the negative in popularity, it's just that it's usually him who approaches people.

Blaise seems to have settled in comfortably enough. Although the cafe is a step up from most places he visits, he's all about exploring new places and considers this a bit of an adventure.

"I try to get to know everyone that's new to the community," she says easily, eyeing an assortment of treats behinds the counter so as not to seem too interested. "My boyfriend basically runs half of Shepherd's Haven, and I'm a journalist, so PR is kind of my thing. I just want to make sure everyone is comfortable and has support!"

Take a breath Misa, you're in for it, now.

"That's so cool! Am I going to get a spot in a magazine talking about my life and how neat it is? Can I brag about my boyfriend, or do they just want to know about me? I can take you to some awesome places for the article! I can tell you what my favourite foods are, or where the neatest places are, or I can even show you where I live! My parents are pretty cool, too! I cook and go on adventures all the time, exploring places that other people in Gateway City are too busy to be concerned about! Do you know how many pretty places there are in Gateway City? Oh, my favourite movie is Moulin Rouge, and my high school life is pretty easy. Cooking is what I like doing best, I mean, besides hanging out with Ryuzaki! He's so sweet and amazing! And he likes it when I make him bacon! I'm trying out several recipes right now, particularly one with chocolate. Do you like chocolate, Misa? It's pretty good, right? I like Belgian milk chocolate best, what about you? Do you ever go exploring? I bet journalism is pretty exciting!"

He'll keep going, his words a mile a minute, if someone doesn't stop him soon.

... Wow. Judging by Misa's stunned expression, she was not at all ready for that. She tries to recover from the shock and concentrate some on what he is actually saying, but so many words. Is this what she sounds like to other people?

"Uh, we can, definitely try to get something like that out!" she says, clearly struggling with all the information he just chatted her ear off with. There has to be something in there she can use to turn the conversation how she wants it to go. "Chocolate is good! You said your boyfriends is Ryuzaki...?"

"Yes! Ryuzaki is sweet, and amazing, and romantic, and perfect! He's so adorable! And he really likes me for me! He calls me cute, and he's got this amazing face, and he likes exploring! He says he loves to be wild and does lots of things! He has a job he loves and he wants me to be his intern for it! He's going to teach me everything he knows! He says we just have to wait for my birthday, first! I can't believe he's willing to wait for me! How much more amazing can someone get?"

It's obvious he's quite excited about Ryuzaki, and he's practically crazy for the way Ryuzaki treats him. To him, this is a fairy tale come true, and he can hardly wait for the results.

Misa's smile drops at the long list of adjectives that could never be used to describe Ryuzaki by any sane person, but to her credit she does manage not to let her disgust thoroughly show through or throw up in her mouth. Her expression more resembles a confused wince.

"He's that great? Wow, it must be a different Ryuzaki than the one I know... how lucky."

He doesn't really notice her smile slip and he can't quite figure out the wince. "Hey, are you okay? Are you sick? Do you have a headache? We can get you some medicine."

Blaise actually has to stop and think for a moment. Is Ryuzaki a common name? Blaise just shakes it off with a chuckle.

"Yea, he really is. Would you like to meet him sometime?"

"Oh, I'm fine!" she assures him, waving off his concerns. "I was just remembering a really unpleasant person. It couldn't be the same one."

Blaise smiles, glad to hear she's okay.

"So, do you have a boyfriend?" He asks, investing in her as much as she seems to be for him. He thinks about his words for a second. "Err... or a girlfriend. I ran into a girl once that I assumed had a boyfriend. she didn't like it. Haha."

"Wha- a boyfriend! I have a boyfriend," she is quick to assert. "His name is Lazarus, he's very... sweet, in his own way. He cares about people a lot and basically runs Shepherd's Haven."
