Nathan is hardly one to criticize anyone's jokes, being that he so rarely makes them himself. His mouth does twitch upward in a brief smile, though. Who says jokes have to be good to be amusing?
Shepherd's Haven being as small as it is, the walk only takes a few minutes. Nathan goes first, being that it's his house and the fact that he may be one of the few residents that bothers to lock his door. Just for his own overactive sense of security rather than an actual mistrust of anyone in the village. He is small and weak; he needs to feel safe.
The house is hardly anything special. Simple, neatly kept. Perhaps even excessively neat. Everything gives the impression of being incredibly organized . . . right down to the toys lined on the shelves, the majority of them being robot action figures. Even the partially-built Lego castle on the living room table is incredibly precise, no stray pieces lying about.
