He just shoots Jacob a cocky grin (is that a fang?) and a wink. Yes, ill-timed and inappropriate but what better a way to diffuse a tense situation than shocking everyone out of it? He knows Nathan hates being the center of attention, especially when he's not feeling his best. Make Jacob angry at him and maybe Nathan can have a moment to regain his composure.

It's a strange dynamic.

Tony shifts and squats down near Nathan, filthy and exhausted from the road as he is he still manages to plaster on a friendly enough grin. "Yeah. So long as I'm still allowed. You wanna get out of here, or need another minute?"
