Thunder Corp Recruitment Drive
Who: Everyone who agreed to be approached by Thunder Corp
When: September 21st
What: Thunder Corp is out to recruit
Where: Various Locations
On the date of September 21st, the visitations begin.
For some, they arrive in the form of men in well-pressed business suits. All of them are fit and attractive, almost artificially so, carrying suitcases that contain contracts they wish for those they approach to sign. Their friendliness is also absolute, though they are somehow aggressive at the same time. They've bought themselves into absolutely every location possible, either having traveled great distances with ease or simply found people where they would logically be. In any case, they approach their "targets" out of the blue, greeting them with an outstretched hand and an aggressively polite demeanor.
Still others receive a message in the form of electronic mail. The approach is different simply as a matter of personal resource. How exactly did they find out your e-mail address? Why, it's for the same reason they're able to approach people wherever they happen to be right now: They're Thunder Corp, and they are very resourceful! That's how!
A much more pressing question would be... how did they know you are a Numbered?
[OOC: There's two threads you can reply off of depending on how you decided to be contacted, ones for being approached in person, and ones for being contacted by personal e-mail.]

What he notices most immediately is that, while her body language is immediately set against him, she doesn't turn him away. Whether that's because she's already too involved to brush him off, or because she's afraid something else will happen if she does, is a question better left to management. But he knows he's going to have to work for this one. He sets his briefcase down at his side; it's not heavy, but it's awkward to hold, and she'll worry less about what's in it if he's not holding it.
"Ma'am, I'll be honest," he starts, marshaling his worry into something like courage. "I'm here because yourself and your wife are good, upstanding people, and you do the right thing when something comes down the pipeline that needs fixing. We do see the kinds of things you and your friends get up to." His smile turns more honest, almost excited. "The way your team works is something special, too. It's like you all know exactly how you're going to work. There's a certain kind of trust you share.
"That's what we value, and what we want to leverage," he goes on, shifting a little more toward business. "We've changed, since the series of incidents when you left. We've fired some people, moved some people around, taken guns away from some people that shouldn't have had them. We've put a lot of time, money, and manpower into helping to bring Locke City back to where it was. And now, there are a few more things that would help. Legitimacy, is one. If the Numbered and one of the biggest remaining forces in Locke can work together, everyone's image improves.
"But another is trust." The goon's face shifts into something closer to a frown. "Right now, the Numbered are a big question mark - there are all kinds in your group. The kind, the intelligent but sharp-tongued, the violent, the... whatever some of those that look like you but aren't are." He doesn't know the right word, and he's not sure he wants to. All he knows is that, the one time he knocked and got Summer, he sat and pored over every bit of intel on this house and its occupants for days before he tried again. "You don't trust us, and without that, it can be hard for us to trust you. We want to be able to work together with you, if something happens."
He pauses for a second. "That was a lot... with me so far?"

The compliments are laid on thick. Perhaps a little too thick. She purses her lips as he gets to the part about their team, but still bites her tongue.
At about the part he references what is clearly Summer, she stifles a smirk. Okay, so perhaps that woman is good for something, beyond a haunting nuisance to her.
"I'm... with you," she says finally, her words a bit clipped. "Talking about trust, though... That's a two way street, you realize. Right now, we don't exactly have a whole lot to go on but your word."

"I understand that. Believe me, I understand that well. Our old management betrayed a lot of trust, even inside the company at times. So it's been hard to get behind our new team, with all the changes they've wanted to make, all the new doctrine. But they've done a lot, ma'am. I'm finding I can be proud of what Thunder Corp. has become in the wake of the invasion, and part of why I wanted to be part of the Numbered Relations Department is that I want to be able to share that with all of you." He looks... surprisingly honest about all this. Refreshing, for a suit, really. There's honest cheer on his face.
"I know it's hard to believe me at face value, but we're doing good work here, and I want you to see that. I want everyone to see that, and to have someone other than us to hear it from, so it is seen."
He hesitates a moment before he continues. "It might be a little presumptuous of me, but... I think it'd be to your benefit, as well. For being willing to work with us, we can offer some financial compensation... which would in turn help free up yourself and your wife to continue doing the good work that means so much to you, instead of having to go back to the coffee shop. Or the Starbucks down the street from where Espresso Yourself used to be, at least."

Maybe she shouldn't be mean to him. He could just be a guy just doing his job, right? He probably doesn't know any better.
Maybe?
He does seem honest, and that might not be a lie - it might be all he knows.
That would actually be the safest thing, even if their intentions are sinister. Which she assumes.
Finally, comes that pitch at the end, and her eyes narrow a little bit. Ah, there it is... that's exactly what she was expecting. Anticipating. It comes, and she shakes her head.
"Like I said, all of that can be true, but... We don't have anything to go off of but your word. Before we can do anything, we need to see your actions." She pushes off the door, arms still crossed. She comes up taller than a lot of people, at full posture. Including any number of men. "As you say, we do good work. Our actions do speak for us, and the people who refuse to believe otherwise aren't going to."
She actually just outright grins then, an almost uncharacteristic cockiness rising in her. That last little jab might have bothered her awhile ago. Not anymore. "I don't think I have to worry about that, though. Being on the bestseller list does have its benefits, sometimes."
