Thunder Corp Recruitment Drive

Who: Everyone who agreed to be approached by Thunder Corp
When: September 21st
What: Thunder Corp is out to recruit
Where: Various Locations

On the date of September 21st, the visitations begin.

For some, they arrive in the form of men in well-pressed business suits. All of them are fit and attractive, almost artificially so, carrying suitcases that contain contracts they wish for those they approach to sign. Their friendliness is also absolute, though they are somehow aggressive at the same time. They've bought themselves into absolutely every location possible, either having traveled great distances with ease or simply found people where they would logically be. In any case, they approach their "targets" out of the blue, greeting them with an outstretched hand and an aggressively polite demeanor.

Still others receive a message in the form of electronic mail. The approach is different simply as a matter of personal resource. How exactly did they find out your e-mail address? Why, it's for the same reason they're able to approach people wherever they happen to be right now: They're Thunder Corp, and they are very resourceful! That's how!

A much more pressing question would be... how did they know you are a Numbered?

[OOC: There's two threads you can reply off of depending on how you decided to be contacted, ones for being approached in person, and ones for being contacted by personal e-mail.]

I will have you know I don't take kindly to threats. That said, I agree that a lighter response will be merited, now that I know your intentions are at least something in the general direction of good. As you've mentioned, your organization and our faction have not been on good terms in the past. Literally nothing you could have done in that first release could have encouraged a truly positive response, short of "we're moving operations to an artificial island five hundred miles off the coast".

Besides, the Numbered remain a point of debate around the world, no matter our response to things. I still have tapes of various Fox News stories about myself I review when I want a laugh.
[Someone on Thunder Corp's team probably remembers the gem about being "harbingers of the lesbian apocalypse".] Even if I'd stayed silent, we would have stirred up a firestorm with that silence. There's no good option.

So it is my sincerest hope that we CAN do good, both to raise the world's opinion of the Numbered, and to show the remainder of the Numbered that - rightfully, as you've said - view Thunder Corp. as a threat that things are changing for the better. I just want to make sure you can hold up your end of the bargain. Pledging to make a change doesn't mean anything if the change never happens. And while I want to believe it will come, please understand my position, and the realities of what I am.
