Who: Amy, Saretha
What: Back into the world
Where: Gateway City
Status: Closed

Amy Dylandy had a routine. Every day, she'd wake up and go jogging. Then, she'd return home, shower, and prepare for classes. Then came classes, with a prepared lunch in between, followed by her returning home, showing again, and then reporting for work, where she would subsequently attempt to not be destroyed by the dinner rush. Then, she'd return home a final time, and if the stars aligned for their mutually intense schedules, Amy would collapse into her girlfriend's arms and, typically, sleep like a rock.

Today was different, however. Today, Amy Dylandy had something she rarely knew what to do with: a day off.

She started the day with her typical routine, before realizing, her routine wasn't necessary. So after jogging, Amy returned home, and did her best to relax. Wear only a bathrobe. Watch cooking shows, because she was typical.

Except... Amy Dylandy was someone who thrived on busy work. She couldn't relax by relaxing. She needed something to do. Normally, she'd start cooking something, or study, but... no, something else called to her this time.

In the mid-afternoon, she went into the apartment's side room - a room that their apartment only had because of Saretha's affluence. There, a machine she'd echoed back in the last year sat, waiting to be used, along with a ruined, ramshackle machine that had been mostly destroyed once upon a time and shorn up into functioning status by replacing it with Gendum model kit parts. It was a frankenstein and nowhere near what Amy saw in Aila's memories, but it worked and it suited her purposes.

Well into the evening, around the time Saretha would be getting home, she'd be lost in battling with this tiny monstrosity, against an AI opponent. A battle her hybrid "gunpla" was at a disadvantage in. But... Amy was into it, and she needed to keep her skills sharp.

She couldn't walk away from this if she tried.

Saretha Kaiser is, unquestionably, a busy woman. She always has been, but this past year has put that into a whole other ballpark. Between extorting her parents' fortunes obtaining capital for her new ventures, and actually running them, certain business had needed to take a back seat. Of course, with disasters cropping up again... That meant her priorities were having to shift yet again.

She enters quietly, saying nothing as she hears the machine running in the other room. She goes there, and stands at the entrance to observe. The technology alone is fascinating, but just as much is how into it Amy seems to be. It's not terribly what she ever expected when she first met the other young woman, but... It catches her attention, all the same.

Hopefully, Amy doesn't mind the audience.

"You should watch your back," comes a quiet response, drifting across the room without any other introduction as Saretha steps fully into the room. The comment comes with a fraction of amusement, and she chuckles. "I believe you may have left yourself a little too open."

Saretha makes a light sound at that accusation, but can barely be bothered to keep the small smirk off her face. She continues further into the room, until she's at Amy's side and looking down at the table.

"You'd probably be the first person in the history of the world to ever make such a claim."

Saretha raises an eyebrow, giving her a sidelong glance. "And if you get an inside look, I'd still be surprised if you made that claim."

She shakes her head though, turning to face her completely. A hand reaches out, finding her arm. "You aren't my servant, however. It's not exactly as if you are obligated to such a thing as if you were one, you must realize."

Saretha merely gives a slight shrug to that first bit, though she smirks slightly. "The most important thing is to do as you wish, and do what you think is most constructive. Even I can't be in the office every single day, after all."

She shakes her head. "It's fine. We can eat out. Your choice."

Saretha's eyebrows raise. Honestly, the Chinese suggestion surprises her. At a time she wouldn't think Amy would go for that, and honestly there was a time Saretha wouldn't either. But...

It sounds like a good idea, really.

As such, she smiles, reaching out and linking an arm with hers. "Come on, then. I can't think of a better way to go about things."

Plus, it's kind of nice in the face of things outside that aren't. Things she still has to address. But... she can let her guard down around Amy, if nothing else.

Saretha takes the kiss gratefully, pressing back against her in response. From there, she gives a brief laugh - something exceedingly rare outside of Amy's company, even today - before leading her out of the room.

"My day was fine. Work is fine. It's everything else in the world I'm worrying about right now."
