Others had left in pursuit of Damon, now in possession of what he was really after: Tony's sword. Tony, meanwhile, lay in a pool of his own blood. The method of awakening the sword, for that's what it truly was, had been quite brutal. Demons clearly took their methods very seriously.

Remarkably, despite the blood and a wound that probably should have almost immediately killed him, Tony was still breathing. Steadily, even, it was more like he was just unconscious rather than struggling to survive. Unfortunately he doesn't yet wake, the injury did take a lot out of him as did the recent transformation that he would later very much hope Jacob didn't see.
