A clever move to hide the casting behind false bravado and fear, using Damon's own arrogance against him. He'd not have expected the guy to be a magic user, much less one who packed real firepower.

But he won't make that mistake twice.

The fire lashes against him and he snarls, it burns and sears but Damon's made of tougher stuff than most. It'll take a lot more than a bit of fire to knock him down. All that did was made him angry.
