Thunder Corp Recruitment Drive
Who: Everyone who agreed to be approached by Thunder Corp
When: September 21st
What: Thunder Corp is out to recruit
Where: Various Locations
On the date of September 21st, the visitations begin.
For some, they arrive in the form of men in well-pressed business suits. All of them are fit and attractive, almost artificially so, carrying suitcases that contain contracts they wish for those they approach to sign. Their friendliness is also absolute, though they are somehow aggressive at the same time. They've bought themselves into absolutely every location possible, either having traveled great distances with ease or simply found people where they would logically be. In any case, they approach their "targets" out of the blue, greeting them with an outstretched hand and an aggressively polite demeanor.
Still others receive a message in the form of electronic mail. The approach is different simply as a matter of personal resource. How exactly did they find out your e-mail address? Why, it's for the same reason they're able to approach people wherever they happen to be right now: They're Thunder Corp, and they are very resourceful! That's how!
A much more pressing question would be... how did they know you are a Numbered?
[OOC: There's two threads you can reply off of depending on how you decided to be contacted, ones for being approached in person, and ones for being contacted by personal e-mail.]

He parks a few spots over from Cesar, his strides long and brisk to catch up. He's a tall and clean-cut sort with very white teeth and a panama-style hat, and he's got a skill that can help him particularly with communicating with someone who can't vocalize.
"Mr. Sanches-Ortiz?" he calls when he's close enough to be heard. "Hello! Good evening! Can I borrow a moment or four or your time? I'm fluent in ASL, don't worry about getting out your tablet."

The footsteps are out of place. The name stops his progress, and he lets his hand drop down, making a motion to his pocket that is almost-as-soon aborted. The same consideration that would've been appreciated at any other time stands out now as invasive, like a flag marking the advantage his man already has. Cesar's profile is already known to them. Cesar doesn't know anything but that the man probably bleaches his teeth.
He tries (and fails) to look unconcerned, feeling cold. It's been a long time since he's thought of his own kidnapping, but its shadow is falling across the encounter all the same.
{Of course.} Cesar pauses, looking around. There's noone else here--no other men in suits, but also no witnesses.
{ ...Why don't we go over there for light, mister--?} Raised eyebrows, and an open hand swings from the nearest street light to the man himself. An invitation to speak.

"Of course," he says, nodding amicably at Cesar's suggestion. "And it's Mr. Miles. Michael Miles, in fact, I'm pleased to make your acquaintance. Is this where you currently work?" he asks, gesturing vaguely to the building they're in the vicinity of.
no subject
{Same to you. And yes, I work here.}
The light casts harsh shadows on the two of them when they reach it, but it's also enough to reassure Cesar the slightest bit. His back is a little straighter, and he seems more prepared to handle whatever it is Miles will throw at him.
{What did you want to talk about?}

By way of answer he nods, then turns and beckons him towards the building. He won't make a huge deal of it, but he'd rather not turn his back to the man if he can.
The building is a standard collection of offices. It looks like it's all owned by one company, and framed posters of scenery dot the walls. They'll stay on the first floor, working their way to a small break room off to one side. Cesar has to open three cabinet doors before he finds mugs for the coffee maker: this isn't his floor, but he'll still make himself at home.

He goes along, side by side and even ahead of Cesar if that's what he communicates through body language he'd prefer.
"Nice office," he comments as they eventually make their way to the break room. "...mine is nicer."
