Thunder Corp Recruitment Drive
Who: Everyone who agreed to be approached by Thunder Corp
When: September 21st
What: Thunder Corp is out to recruit
Where: Various Locations
On the date of September 21st, the visitations begin.
For some, they arrive in the form of men in well-pressed business suits. All of them are fit and attractive, almost artificially so, carrying suitcases that contain contracts they wish for those they approach to sign. Their friendliness is also absolute, though they are somehow aggressive at the same time. They've bought themselves into absolutely every location possible, either having traveled great distances with ease or simply found people where they would logically be. In any case, they approach their "targets" out of the blue, greeting them with an outstretched hand and an aggressively polite demeanor.
Still others receive a message in the form of electronic mail. The approach is different simply as a matter of personal resource. How exactly did they find out your e-mail address? Why, it's for the same reason they're able to approach people wherever they happen to be right now: They're Thunder Corp, and they are very resourceful! That's how!
A much more pressing question would be... how did they know you are a Numbered?
[OOC: There's two threads you can reply off of depending on how you decided to be contacted, ones for being approached in person, and ones for being contacted by personal e-mail.]

Yes, I am very aware of your "call for a new age of co-operation". What precisely made you think it was a good idea to publicly shame us before asking for help? That doesn't do anything to create an atmosphere of trust among us like you seem to want. You recognize that you're not trusted anyway, and then pull something like this? You haven't improved your position, as far as I'm concerned.
I of course have a concern for my home, the future of the Numbered, and the world, but I can't put my name under the banner of somebody I don't trust. If others agree, that's their own business, and any proof that comes from them holds more water to me than anything you can say. Maybe things have changed, and maybe they haven't. That remains to be seen, in my eyes. Consider this offer declined.

We regret that you took our appeal to the Numbered to join us of their own volition as an attempt to "shame" you all. However, the truth of the matter is that a great many of you left our city, so we would encourage you to look at it from our perspective.
If you are concerned as to why you cannot trust us, we would like to resolve those issues and determine what it is we can do to earn it. However, you must realize that such a relationship would be a two way street.
We understand that you did decline our offer, but we would be doing both you and Locke a disservice if we didn't attempt to discuss these issues further.

Surely you can appreciate that other people would want the same courtesy. Unfortunately, we cannot provide that without someone taking the first step. Trust cannot begin without someone willing to take, not a chance, but the facts presented to them. I also ask you to touch upon your fundamental faith in humanity.
The people of Locke have come to trust us implicitly. We are not sure why their word is worth less to than that of other Numbered.

And I'm sure you'll have someone. But it won't be me. You have not presented fact on my concern and at this point can't. Given our history and your initial approach to starting this co-operation, you can hopefully understand my reservations. You've held favourable public opinion before while taking action against us. The observations of people I already know and trust are more convincing to me than those of strangers.

Once again, you confuse our current actions with the actions of the previous iteration of our company. We cannot be held responsible for the deeds of people who acted in their own interests and no longer represent the will of Thunder Corp as it exists now.
It is true we are strangers to you, but in actuality, it is you who are acting as if we were someone you already know. Thunder Corp has changed for the better, and you need only to look at Locke itself to understand that.

At this point, I think we're just starting to repeat ourselves. My refusal stands. Continuing this back and forth isn't productive for either of us, so I will no longer be replying.
